Fun-For-All Poker Run on the Council Grove Lake Reservoir!
Start and finish in Marina Cove. Follow a pre-mapped course. Take a paddle break at several stops along the course. This event isn’t a race. The challenge: at each stop collect a playing card, play an easy, fun game, enjoy a light snack, and continue your journey. Kayak the full course (around 6 miles), or partial course. It’s up to you!
Turn in your playing cards at the end of your run. High poker hand wins ½ day pontoon rental! Plus, participants received a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes donated by our great local sponsors.
Registration Details
$50 per person – Includes event t-shirt, meal ticket, raffle ticket, goody-bag.
Note: Registrations made after July 6 are not guaranteed an event t-shirt due to printing lead times.
Schedule
- 8:00AM – Check-in Marina Cove. Breakfast is available for sale on Parrot Patio
- 9:00AM – Launch
- 11:30AM – Lunch, served by local QUWF chapter
- 12:00 noon – Grand prize and raffle drawings on the Parrot Patio
- 1:00PM – Event wrap-up
Bring your own kayak and gear. Life jackets are required by law for each participant. Our goal is for every participant to enjoy the day on the lake!
Ahoy! 2025 Summer of the Parrot
The Marina Crew is celebrating Parrot Patio’s 10th season with parrots and pirate-themed events all summer. Fun awards will be given during Kayak Challenge in 5 categories:
- Calico Jack / Anne Bonny: Best-dressed pirate
- Parrot: Kayak most likely to be mistaken for a parrot
- Black Pearl: Kayak that looks most like a pirate ship
- Flamingo: Kayak with the most tropical vibe
- Powder Monkey: Judges choice award
